E-Bikes

Guidelines for Renting an E-Bike at PSB

E-Bikes are a new segment of cycling in Moab. Since an E-Bike is considered motorized by the local BLM and Forest Service, there are rules and laws on where you are allowed to ride. E-bikes are not allowed on most of the singletrack trails in and around the Moab area including the paved bike paths running along highway 191, the river road (HWY 128) and throughout the city of Moab.

Trails: The areas we allow our E-bikes to be ridden on include: Dead Horse Point State Park, Sand Flats Recreation Area (Slickrock trail, Hells Revenge, Fins and Things), and the Sovereign Trail system.

Transportation: We allow our E-bikes to be transported on receiver hitch racks that PSB approves of. We do not allow the use of any trunk or roof rack. Our bikes have plenty of battery range to be ridden from the shop up to the Sand Flats area without the use of a shuttle vehicle.

Range: The approximate range in Moab for a fully charged battery with a 180-pound (80kg) rider is: 20 miles in Boost, 30 miles in Trail, and 40 miles in Eco modes. These are approximations- terrain and temperature extremes will effect battery life and range.

In the event of electrical or mechanical failure, Poison Spider Bicycles is NOT responsible for field recovery or assistance.

Trek Fuel EXE 9.5

You want a trail bike that's ready to ride everywhere, and gives you a little extra fuel on the ascents. You don't want to sacrifice the nimble feel of a traditional trail bike for a beefy motor, and prefer a refined assist that feels—and sounds— natural underneath you.
